PVC offers fixed-fee grant services so organizations can get the right level of help without committing to a full application before they are ready. Whether you need a quick funding check, a formal research report, a grant readiness review, a full application, or post-award support, PVC can meet you where you are in the process.
All services are handled personally by Stephen Balaban. Prices shown are starting points — final fees are confirmed before any work begins.
Group 1 — Find Funding
The first step is knowing what’s realistic. These services replace free exploratory research.
Free Grant Fit Check — Free (15 minutes)
A brief phone conversation to determine whether grant funding may be realistic for your project. PVC will ask a few questions about your organization and project, give an honest opinion on fit, and recommend a logical next step. Does not include grant research, written report, eligibility analysis, or deadline list. This is the conversation — not the research.
Quick Grant Scan — Starting at $99
For one straightforward question: ‘Is there anything out there for this?’ PVC reviews one project idea and identifies 2–3 possible funding sources with brief eligibility notes and a clear recommendation: pursue, monitor, or not a strong fit at this time. Deliverable: short email summary. Best for churches, small nonprofits, and first-time clients who need a low-cost first answer.
Grant Opportunity Scan — Starting at $150
A more substantive review of 3–5 grant options for a specific project. Includes eligibility notes, award ranges, deadline overview, and a short written memo with PVC’s recommended priorities. Best for organizations that have a defined project and want to know their best options before deciding whether to move forward.
Basic Funding Research Report — Starting at $250
A focused review of 5–8 grant opportunities for one project or organization. Includes eligibility notes, deadlines, match requirements, award ranges, difficulty rating, and PVC’s recommended order of pursuit. Deliverable: written report. A portion of the research fee may be credited toward a subsequent grant application if PVC is retained within 60 days.
Standard Funding Research Report — Starting at $350
Expanded research covering multiple funding options across program types. Best for organizations with more than one priority project or those seeking a broader picture of available funding. Deliverable: written report with prioritized opportunity list.
Expanded Funding Research Report / Project Funding Roadmap — Starting at $500
A 12-month funding calendar tied to your organization’s specific projects and priorities. Includes grant-by-grant fit rating, deadline schedule, match requirements, client readiness checklist, and PVC’s top recommendations for first pursuit. Best for agencies and districts with multiple active projects. A portion of the research fee may be credited toward a subsequent application if PVC is retained within 60 days.
Group 2 — Get Grant Ready
Most organizations aren’t as ready as they think. These services prevent missed deadlines and disqualifying mistakes.
Grant Readiness Review — Starting at $250
A checklist-based review of your organization’s current eligibility: SAM.gov / UEI registration, required portal access (JustGrants, OCJS GMS, FEMA GO), organizational documents, board approvals, budget readiness, vendor quote status, and deadline risks. Deliverable: written readiness memo with action items.
Portal & Registration Assistance — Starting at $150
Hands-on guidance for SAM.gov, UEI, Grants.gov, JustGrants, OCJS GMS, or FEMA GO setup. Includes role assignments, account verification steps, and documentation guidance. Particularly useful for first-time applicants and organizations with lapsed registrations.
Vendor Quote & Budget Review — Starting at $150
Review of vendor quote language, budget structure, and project scope for grant-eligibility compliance before submission. Includes written summary of issues and recommended corrections. Prevents common post-award problems with unapproved items and scope mismatches.
Full Readiness Package — Starting at $500
Combines the Readiness Review, portal check, and budget review into one engagement. Recommended for organizations preparing for their first competitive grant or returning after a period of inactivity.

Larger, multi-component federal applications requiring extended narrative development, partner coordination, and budget complexity. Contact PVC for a scoping conversation.
Grant writer fees are not chargeable to federal award budgets. All PVC fees are paid directly by the client organization.
Group 4 — After the Award
The award is not the finish line. Compliance, reimbursements, procurement, and reporting all have deadlines and consequences.
